Misty

Rows of rain shimmer, huddle -
It’s a misty morning's gentle side.
Water sounds against deep green leaves.
There are gray skies and chilly breezes
And not a bird song to be heard.
Nor a butterfly passing by –
Just a misty morning feeling here.

A chill tiptoes through my body,
And shivers soon follow;
Then it’s back beneath my covers.
Warmth spreads like a magic marching fire.
Soon yawns roar within… then come a stretch.
My eyes drift closed again
As cold feet snuggle.
