Memories of Youth
Joys as these are gladly told:
Of youth and innocence to all but pleasure -
Where the small things that my youth did treasure
Were sweet gifts in Nature's hold.
None should forget the times one sought
Green grass beneath little toes, and clouds that lure
Imagination in the grandest way - to hold - to store...
So vividly each sound, sight, smell and touch thus caught -
Contained and held for times unknown - as a reference for an aging quest...
That one day this young and vivid guest might reappear...
And wake long forgotten years.
